Shocking Murder in Odisha
A disturbing incident unfolded late Saturday night in Odisha, leaving the community in shock. A father, identified as Rupa Pingu, allegedly killed a young man named Karunakara Behera in a fit of rage before surrendering to the police. Karunakara was a resident of the No. 1 Colony in Akhuapada Panchayat and worked as a helper for a JCB machine in Mohanpashi village.
Upon returning home, Rupa discovered another person in his daughter's room. When he opened the door, he was enraged to find his daughter and Karunakara in a compromising situation. Believing that the young man was assaulting his daughter, Rupa grabbed a sharp weapon nearby and attacked Karunakara repeatedly, resulting in the young man's death within moments.
Relationship Behind the Tragedy
According to villagers, Karunakara and Rupa's daughter were in a romantic relationship, a fact that Rupa was either unaware of or unwilling to accept. His discovery of the two together led him to act impulsively without considering the consequences.
Investigation Underway
After the murder, Rupa disposed of the body near a canal to avoid immediate detection. However, he soon realized the gravity of his actions and went directly to the Dadra Ghati police station to surrender. The police responded promptly, recovering Karunakara's body and sending it for autopsy. Rupa Pingu is currently in custody for questioning. Following the incident, Karunakara's father, Kashinath Behera, and family members arrived in the village, demanding strict action against the accused. The community remains in a state of shock and silence after this tragic event.
