Investigation Underway in Noida Double Death Case

Noida witnessed a tragic event as a young couple was discovered dead in a rented room in Tughlakpur village. Authorities suspect that following a dispute, the young man may have murdered the woman before taking his own life. The police are currently investigating the case.

The couple, who were reportedly in a consensual relationship, were found under suspicious circumstances. Neighbors alerted the police around 6 PM on Wednesday after noticing a foul odor emanating from the room. Upon breaking down the door, they found the man's body hanging from a ceiling fan, while the woman's body was lying on the mattress. It has been reported that the couple had been experiencing conflicts recently, leading to suspicions that the man may have strangled the woman before committing suicide. No signs of physical injury were found on the woman's body, and no suicide note was recovered from the scene.

The Knowledge Park police are now awaiting the post-mortem report. The deceased, identified as Guddu Paswan, also known as Golu (27), had previously worked for a company in Hyderabad. For the past eight months, he had been residing on the third floor of a house owned by Surendra Nagar in Tughlakpur, Greater Noida, where he worked as an electrician.

Alongside Guddu was Jyoti (24), who had moved to Greater Noida five months ago. She was employed in the housekeeping department at a local college. Their families were unaware of their cohabitation, and Guddu had left home on April 1, claiming he was returning to Hyderabad.

Neighbors reported that the couple had not been seen outside for two weeks, following ongoing disputes over household expenses. They had not left their room since April 20. A scarf was found at the scene, raising suspicions that it may have been used to strangle the woman. Guddu's uncle, Lakshman Paswan, mentioned that Guddu was unmarried and had recently returned to the village for his sister's engagement. He had planned to return to Hyderabad shortly after.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the couple had rented the room by presenting themselves as husband and wife, paying a monthly rent of five thousand rupees. The woman was seen wearing sindoor, indicating a marital status, although they were not legally married. Guddu's family, which includes his parents and a younger sister living in the village, is devastated by his death. Jyoti's family consists of her parents and two older brothers. Currently, the police are considering all angles in their investigation, and no formal complaints or accusations have been made by either party. Further actions will depend on the post-mortem report and technical evidence.
