Shocking Murder-Suicide Case in Palamu

In a disturbing incident in Palamu, Jharkhand, a young man allegedly murdered his minor cousin before taking his own life. Reports indicate that the girl was living with her uncle to pursue her studies.

On Monday, a 23-year-old man reportedly attacked his cousin with an axe, resulting in her death, and subsequently jumped in front of a train to end his life. Authorities suspect that the two may have had an illicit relationship, which led to a confrontation between them.

The girl was staying at her uncle's residence for educational purposes. On Sunday night, a dispute arose between her and her cousin, Bittu. In a fit of rage, Bittu used an axe from their home to fatally assault her.

Young Man Leaves Home Claiming Suicide

After committing the murder, Bittu left his home, telling family members he was going to commit suicide. On Monday morning, his body was discovered on the railway tracks.

Police reported that Bittu's body was found on the railway tracks in Bakhari, while the 16-year-old girl's body was located at her uncle's house. Initial investigations suggest that Bittu had an illicit relationship with his cousin, and the murder occurred following a heated argument.

Suicide Near Train Tracks

Following the murder, Bittu jumped in front of a train approximately two kilometers from his home. The police have sent both bodies for post-mortem examinations and are currently investigating the case.

The officer in charge of the local police station, Lalji, confirmed that the weapon used in the murder has been seized, and both bodies have been taken into custody for further examination. The police are thoroughly investigating all aspects related to the alleged romantic involvement and the ensuing conflict.
