This incident, linked to a romantic relationship, occurred in the Imadpur village of the Bhagwanpur police station area. The young man, identified as Pankaj Kumar, died at the scene, while his girlfriend, Ganga Kumari, is in critical condition, fighting for her life at PMCH hospital in Patna.

Reports indicate that Pankaj had been in love with Ganga for the past 12 years. However, her family had arranged her marriage for next month, which reportedly led Pankaj to take a drastic step.

Witnesses claim that Pankaj went to Ganga's house and shot her before turning the gun on himself in the garden. Ganga sustained two gunshot wounds to her back, while Pankaj was shot once in the chest and once in the head, resulting in his immediate death.

The absence of the weapon at the crime scene has raised suspicions. Authorities are investigating why the firearm was not found if Pankaj indeed shot himself.

Pankaj's father, Fekhan Sahni, has accused Ganga's father of being involved in the shooting, asserting that their families opposed the couple's relationship.

Conversely, Ganga's father, Upendra Sahni, claims that Pankaj intended to rob them, noting that they had arranged 4 lakh rupees for Ganga's upcoming wedding. He believes Pankaj was aware of this financial arrangement.

Police are exploring all angles of the case. Vikram Sihag, the Superintendent of Police for Vaishali district, arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation. He stated that initial findings suggest a romantic entanglement, with Pankaj's anger over Ganga's impending marriage being a possible motive.
