Gwalior, July 22: A 22-year-old woman reportedly took her own life by hanging at her home in the DD Nagar locality of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, as confirmed by local authorities on Wednesday.


Details of the Incident

The tragic event unfolded late Tuesday night within the jurisdiction of the Maharajpura police station. The victim has been identified as Sakshi Chaudhary, who was married to Lalkesh Chaudhary for approximately one and a half years.


According to police reports, the family discovered Sakshi hanging when they went to call her for dinner around 10:45 p.m. After receiving no reply, they opened her room door and found her in that state, prompting them to immediately contact the authorities.


A police team arrived promptly at the scene and took custody of the body, which has since been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the precise cause of death.


Investigation Underway

"We were informed about a woman found hanging in her residence in DD Nagar on Tuesday night. The body has been dispatched for a post-mortem, and a case of unnatural death has been filed. No suicide note was located at the scene. We are currently interviewing family members and exploring all potential angles to understand the circumstances surrounding this incident," stated a police officer from the Maharajpura station.


Initial investigations revealed no suicide note in the room, and the exact motive behind the alleged suicide remains unclear. Authorities suspect that domestic issues may have contributed, but they emphasized that no definitive conclusions can be drawn until the investigation is complete.


Sakshi's husband, Lalkesh Chaudhary, an engineer in a government department, was on duty at the time of the incident and returned home after being notified.


Police have gathered statements from family members and are awaiting the results of the post-mortem examination. Further actions will be determined based on medical findings and evidence collected during the ongoing investigation.
