Tragic Incident: Hyderabad Constable Found Dead in Police Station

A constable in Hyderabad was found dead in a police station, raising serious concerns about mental health and support within the police force. Constable's Death Raises Concerns

Hyderabad, August 12: A tragic incident unfolded at a police station in Hyderabad on Wednesday, where a constable reportedly took his own life, according to officials.


Constable J. Sai Kumar was discovered deceased in the ACP office at the LB Nagar Police Station, part of the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate.


During his night shift, he was found hanging from a ceiling fan early in the morning.


Belonging to the 2024 batch, Sai Kumar was assigned to the ACP office for e-COPS duties.


As per police reports, the incident transpired around 2:30 a.m., with Sai Kumar found hanging in the restroom of the ACP office. Authorities rushed him to a private hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.


It has been reported that Sai Kumar was residing with friends in Karmanghat. Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding his death and the reasons behind this tragic event.


The body has been transferred to Osmania General Hospital for a post-mortem examination. In the meantime, family members of Sai Kumar protested outside the LB Nagar Police Station.


They expressed their distress over not being informed prior to the body being moved to the hospital and have requested the return of his mobile phone.


The police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation, aiming to clarify the exact circumstances leading to the constable's death.


This incident marks the second occurrence of its kind in the city within three weeks.


Previously, another constable reportedly shot himself with his service weapon at the Telangana Police Headquarters in Lakdikapul on July 23, allegedly due to family-related issues.


The deceased, identified as Swamy, had left a suicide note stating that no one should speak ill of his wife and children, asserting that they were good people and that he would continue to care for them even after his passing.
