Tragic Incident During Military Training in Rajasthan Claims Soldier's Life
Fatal Tank Accident in Rajasthan
A soldier lost his life when a tank sank in the Indira Gandhi Canal during a routine military exercise in the Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan. This unfortunate event was reported by the police on Wednesday.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday, and it took several hours of effort to recover the body by evening.
The police explained that the regular training session involved armored vehicles practicing crossing the canal. During this exercise, one tank became stuck in the middle of the canal and began to submerge.
There were two soldiers inside the tank; one managed to escape, while the other was trapped. Upon receiving the alert, police, along with the disaster response team and civil defense personnel, rushed to the scene. However, the tank had sunk in a canal that was approximately 25 feet deep.
Rescue divers and teams worked diligently to retrieve the body, which is scheduled for an autopsy today.
