A press release issued by the Public Relations Officer of the defence sector confirmed the unfortunate news, stating, "It is with great sorrow that we report the death of Subedar Major Om Bahadur Khand during a routine firing exercise at the Central Ammunition Depot in Pulgaon on May 15, 2026, due to an incident that occurred on the firing range."
