Fatal Accident at Pulgaon Firing Range

On Friday, a junior commissioned officer from the Defence Security Corps tragically lost his life during a firing exercise at the Central Ammunition Depot in Pulgaon, located in Maharashtra's Wardha district. The deceased has been identified as Om Bahadur Khand, who held the esteemed rank of Subedar Major among junior commissioned officers. A press release issued by the Public Relations Officer of the defence sector confirmed the unfortunate news, stating, "It is with great sorrow that we report the death of Subedar Major Om Bahadur Khand during a routine firing exercise at the Central Ammunition Depot in Pulgaon on May 15, 2026, due to an incident that occurred on the firing range."


According to reports from a news agency, Khand's unit has extended their condolences to the family of the fallen soldier. Meanwhile, an investigation into the incident has been initiated and is currently ongoing.
