Fire Breaks Out in Electronics Factory

A devastating fire erupted in an electronics manufacturing facility located in the Ecotech-3 industrial area of Greater Noida during the night of August 3rd and 4th. Tragically, two brave firefighters lost their lives when a wall and a heavy iron beam collapsed while they were battling the blaze, leaving three others seriously injured. According to police and administrative officials, the incident occurred at the ILGIM company premises, which specializes in the production of electronic chips. Upon receiving the alert, nearly ten fire engines from the local police and fire department rushed to the scene to initiate rescue operations.

Firefighters Trapped Under Debris

During the firefighting efforts, a section of the factory's wall and an iron beam unexpectedly fell, trapping five firefighters underneath. The injured personnel have been identified as Head Constable Driver Rajpal Singh, Fireman Manish Kumar, Head Constable Driver Teerathpal Singh, Fireman Amit Kumar, and Fireman Rohit Yadav. All five were promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Casualties and Condition of Injured

Upon arrival at the hospital, medical staff declared Fireman Rohit Yadav and Head Constable Driver Teerathpal Singh deceased, while the remaining three injured firefighters are reported to be in stable condition and out of danger.

Investigation Underway

Senior police officials and teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are present at the site, conducting further legal proceedings. Authorities are also investigating the cause of the fire.

Additional Incident Involving E-Commerce Fraud

In a separate incident, Noida police apprehended five members of an organized gang accused of swapping expensive products ordered from major e-commerce platforms like Flipkart and Amazon. Approximately ₹75 lakh worth of stolen goods were recovered. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Saad Mia Khan, two additional suspects remain at large, and efforts to capture them are ongoing. The arrested individuals have been identified as Waris Khan, Sunil Kumar, Vijay Singh, Dharmendra, and Suraj Singh, while Bhupendra and Aslam, also known as Raju Khan, are still evading capture.

Gang's Modus Operandi

The gang has reportedly been active for the past three to four months, targeting high-value orders placed through major e-commerce platforms. Allegations suggest that during delivery, the gang members would replace expensive items with cheaper or different products, defrauding customers, sellers, and companies alike. After removing the original products, the gang allegedly sold the stolen items in the open market. The police recovered a significant amount of stolen merchandise, including protein supplements, shoes, clothing, electronic gadgets, wireless devices for children, and medical monitoring equipment, with an estimated total value of around ₹75 lakh.
