Tragic Fire in Lucknow: Special Investigation Team Launched to Uncover the Truth
Investigation Underway Following Fatal Fire Incident
Lucknow (UP): In response to a devastating fire that claimed the lives of at least 15 individuals in a commercial building located in the Aliganj area of Lucknow, a two-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established. The team commenced its investigation on Tuesday morning, as confirmed by officials.
The SIT was formed under the directive of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and includes Amrit Abhijat, the Additional Chief Secretary for Tourism, and Praveen Kumar, the Additional Director General of Police for the Lucknow Zone.
"We are here to thoroughly investigate every aspect of this tragic incident. Our goal is to complete the inquiry within the designated timeframe and take necessary actions," Praveen Kumar stated to reporters at the scene.
Prior to the SIT's arrival, a six-member team of forensic experts had already begun examining the site earlier that morning.
The investigation focuses on determining the fire's cause, identifying any lapses, and establishing accountability related to the blaze that erupted in the three-storey building on Usha Mehta Marg in Sector D of Aliganj on Monday.
The fire resulted in the tragic loss of 15 lives, predominantly individuals under the age of 30, and left seven others injured, prompting the state government to initiate a high-level inquiry.
