Circumstances Surrounding the Tragedy

The fire was extinguished around midnight. Joint Police Commissioner Arpana Kumar arrived at the scene, and under the guidance of SDRF Commandant Amit Kumar, a search operation was initiated. The area was dark, and firefighters used lights to navigate. As they searched through the debris, they found the bodies of the two girls on their cot. Their father, Satish, and mother, Poonam, were informed of the tragic discovery. Satish confirmed that the deceased were his daughters, Swati (2 years) and Ayushi (2 months), and that their hut had been completely destroyed.

Parents Were Away During the Incident

Satish, originally from Barabanki district, had been living in the slum for about 20 years. On the day of the fire, he was at work while his wife went to a nearby shop. Their daughters were asleep on the cot when the fire broke out. By the time they returned, the flames had engulfed their hut. Despite attempts to reach their home, they were prevented from entering by bystanders and emergency services, ultimately leading to the tragic loss of their children.
