Tragic Fire Claims Lives of Four Family Members in West Bengal

Fire Incident in Howrah District

A devastating fire in a residence located in the Howrah district of West Bengal has resulted in the tragic deaths of four family members. This unfortunate event was reported by officials on Monday morning.


The incident occurred in the village of Sauria, within the jurisdiction of the Joypur police station, during the night between Sunday and Monday.


The deceased have been identified as Duryodhan Dolui (72), his son Dudh Kumar Dolui (45), daughter-in-law Shibani Dolui (40), and granddaughter Shampa Dolui (15). Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire in the thatched house.


Firefighters arrived at the scene with two fire engines to extinguish the flames. The bodies have been sent to a government hospital in Uluberia for post-mortem examinations. According to officials, the family was living in extreme poverty, and Dudh Kumar had a son who works as a migrant laborer outside the state.
