Family Dies in Fire Incident at Delhi Metro Quarters
A devastating fire broke out late Monday night in a building located within the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) residential complex in Adarsh Nagar, northwest Delhi, resulting in the tragic deaths of a couple and their 10-year-old daughter. According to officials from the Delhi Fire Service, the victims have been identified as 42-year-old Ajay Kumar, his 38-year-old wife Neelam, and their daughter Jahnvi.
The fire was reported at 2:39 AM on the fifth floor of the DMRC quarters, prompting the dispatch of five fire engines to the scene.
Explosion in East Delhi Causes Fire, Injures Firefighters
In a separate incident on January 4, a fire erupted in a multi-story residential building in the Mandawali area of East Delhi following an LPG cylinder explosion. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties; however, three firefighters sustained injuries during the firefighting efforts. The fire was reported around 1 PM, originating from the fourth floor after an LPG cylinder exploded. Fire department officials stated, "We immediately dispatched fire engines to the location."
Around 1:50 PM, officials reported that another LPG explosion occurred while they were battling the flames, resulting in injuries to the firefighters. By approximately 2:05 PM, the fire was brought under control, and the injured personnel were taken to the hospital. The exact cause of the LPG cylinder explosion remains under investigation.
