A tragic incident occurred in Etawah district, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday, where a two-year-old girl lost her life due to a fire suspected to have been caused by a short circuit. Authorities have confirmed the details.


According to police reports, the fire broke out inside a home in the Bhawani Pur village of the Bakhiwar police jurisdiction, where the young girl, named Shanya, was sleeping on a cot.


At the time of the incident, her father, Aditya Kumar, was away for work, while her mother had gone to the roof to prepare cow dung cakes. Upon noticing smoke rising, she rushed downstairs and raised an alarm. Neighbors quickly arrived and attempted to extinguish the flames with water, but unfortunately, the girl had already succumbed to her injuries.


The police arrived shortly after being notified and sent the child's body for a post-mortem examination. Initial investigations suggest that the fire was likely caused by an electrical short circuit.
