A tragic fire broke out in a residential building in the Oshiwara area of Mumbai on Saturday, resulting in the death of a 73-year-old woman, as reported by a municipal official.
The fire was reported around 11:15 AM near the 'High Point' hotel in the Lokhandwala area, and it took four fire engines along with additional firefighting vehicles until 12:09 PM to bring the blaze under control.
According to the official, the elderly victim, Hiru Chetlani, suffered severe burns and was pronounced dead by doctors at the Cooper Hospital, which is operated by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
