On the evening of October 17, Pareshbhai, accompanied by his friend Jignesh Shrimali, rode to Anjali's parental home in Narol. He confronted his mother-in-law, Dinaben Vegda, questioning why she did not send his wife back home. This confrontation quickly turned into a fierce argument, spiraling into violence.

In a fit of rage, Paresh allegedly attempted to attack his mother-in-law with a weapon. In response, Dinaben swiftly picked up a brick and struck him on the head.
