A tragic incident unfolded on Tuesday evening in Jodhan village, located in Ludhiana district, where a powerful explosion occurred at an illegal firecracker manufacturing facility. This blast resulted in the death of one individual and left two others, including a 16-year-old girl, seriously injured, as reported by local authorities.
According to Varinder Singh Khosla, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Mullanpur), initial investigations revealed that the building was engaged in the unlawful production of firecrackers.
The deceased has been identified as Kaif Shah, while one of the injured is named Alisha, aged 16. The explosion took place around 7:30 PM, and the sound was heard from a considerable distance, causing panic in the surrounding area.
Emergency Response and Ongoing Investigation
Authorities indicated that there were reports of a cylinder explosion within the building. Upon receiving news of the blast, police and firefighters quickly arrived at the scene to assist the injured, who were subsequently transported to a nearby hospital.
One of the injured individuals reported that the explosion caused the roof of the building to collapse. The police have confirmed that an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
