Tragic Explosion at Illegal Firecracker Factory in Ahmedabad Claims Lives

Devastating Blast in Ahmedabad

A catastrophic explosion occurred at an illegal firecracker factory in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, resulting in the deaths of at least eight individuals and injuring 15 others. According to local officials, the blast, which took place on Ramol-Gatrad Road, was so powerful that its sound could be heard from five kilometers away. The impact of the explosion was significant, leading to extensive damage at the site. The injured were promptly transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Four victims were admitted to LG Hospital, while three others were taken to Aashrawa Civil Hospital. Immediate updates on the condition of the remaining injured individuals were not available. This factory is located behind the Rapid Action Force (RAF) camp in Vastral. Upon hearing the explosion, personnel stationed at the camp rushed to the scene and began rescue operations before the fire brigade arrived. They assisted in evacuating the injured and rescuing those trapped under debris. More than five fire engines were deployed to the site, where firefighters managed to control the blaze and continued cooling operations to prevent re-ignition.


Senior Officials Oversee Rescue and Relief Efforts

Hitesh Barot, the Mayor of Ahmedabad, along with senior officials from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's Fire and Emergency Services, arrived at the scene to supervise the rescue and relief operations. Deputy Commissioner of Police Mayur Patil from Zone-8 and Joint Commissioner of Police Jaipal Singh Rathore from Sector-2 were also present. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the explosion and the alleged illegal operation of the firecracker factory.
