Tragic End to Love Story: Husband Murdered by Wife in Ghaziabad
Shocking Incident in Ghaziabad
In a disturbing incident in the Shankar Vihar colony of Ghaziabad, adjacent to Delhi, a love marriage that lasted 11 years has ended in a horrific manner. The wife has been accused of strangling her husband to death, sparking widespread discussion in the community about how a loving relationship turned violent.
Reports indicate that the deceased, Bijendra, originally from Farrukhabad, was living with his family in Shankar Vihar. He had entered into a love marriage with Sonia, also known as Soni, a Muslim woman, about 11 years ago. After their marriage, they settled in the same colony and had two sons, aged approximately 9 and 6 years. A relative of the deceased mentioned that Sonia had returned home after consuming alcohol, leading to a dispute that escalated to Bijendra's murder by strangulation.
Details reveal that over time, tensions had been rising in their marriage, with frequent arguments over trivial matters, sometimes resulting in physical altercations. On the night of March 31, a similar argument occurred, but this time it turned fatal. Allegations suggest that in a fit of rage, Sonia strangled Bijendra, causing his immediate death.
Bijendra's brother filed a complaint at the Khoda police station, accusing Sonia of murder. Based on this, the police registered a case under Section 103(1) BNS. Family members claim that Sonia had a history of alcohol abuse and often instigated fights. On the night of the incident, after Bijendra returned home from work, a heated exchange led to the tragic outcome.
During police questioning, Sonia presented her side of the story, stating that she had been suffering from her husband's abuse and constant arguments, which drove her to this desperate act. Upon receiving the report, police arrived at the scene, took the body for post-mortem, and conducted the last rites after the examination. Following a tip-off, authorities arrested Sonia from the Itwar Pushta area.
Investigations are ongoing, and police are also looking into Sonia's criminal background. This incident serves as a grim reminder of how domestic disputes can transform seemingly happy relationships into violence and tragedy.
