Fatal Electrocution in Deoria

On Sunday, a man from Rajasthan tragically lost his life due to electrocution in the Abu Bakar Nagar area of Deoria district. In a separate incident, a mother and her daughter suffered severe burns from electric shock while working in a field in Kushinagar.


Details of the Deoria Incident

According to Durgesh Kumar Singh, the officer in charge of Deoria Sadar police station, the victim, 40-year-old Sampat Singh, originally from Chittorgarh district in Rajasthan, was residing in a rented house in Abu Bakar Nagar. Singh reported that the incident occurred while he was operating a fan during a rainstorm.


After some time, bystanders noticed him and rushed him to Deoria Medical College, where he was pronounced dead by the doctors. The police have since sent the body for a post-mortem examination.


Kushinagar Incident Involving Mother and Daughter

In a related incident in Kushinagar, Shahana Khatoon, 37, and her 13-year-old daughter, Aafreen, were electrocuted by a high-tension line while working in their field in Mansurganj village, linked to the Gidhachak Bariya sub-center.


Nearby residents alerted the family about the incident, and both were admitted to a private hospital for treatment. Executive Engineer Durgesh stated that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ascertain the details of the incident. He assured that if any departmental negligence is found, appropriate action will be taken against those responsible.
