Tragic Drowning Incident Claims Lives of Two Girls in Rishikesh

A tragic drowning incident in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, resulted in the deaths of two young girls while they were swimming in the Ganga River. Local residents managed to rescue a third girl. The State Disaster Response Force conducted a search operation, recovering the bodies of the victims. This heartbreaking event has left the community in mourning as they remember the lives lost.
 

Drowning Incident in Rishikesh

On Friday, a tragic incident occurred near the IDPL cremation ground in the Dhalwala area of Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, where two girls lost their lives while bathing in the Ganga River. Fortunately, local residents managed to rescue another girl from the river's waters.


According to information from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), three girls were swimming in the river when they began to struggle in the water. Bystanders were able to save one of the girls, Anjali, aged 10, but the other two unfortunately drowned.


Upon receiving the alert, the SDRF team arrived at the scene and conducted a search operation in the river, recovering the bodies of both girls. The deceased have been identified as Neha, aged 13, and Anjali, aged 14. All three girls were residents of Lane Number Six in the Shivlok Chowk area of IDPL.
