Drowning Incident in Farrukhabad

On Tuesday morning, a tragic incident occurred in a village within the Kamalganj police jurisdiction of Farrukhabad district, where two boys drowned in the Ganges River, according to police reports.


As per the police, Arun Jatav, a 17-year-old boy from Sherpur Sarai, went to bathe in the Ganges with his cousin, 12-year-old Sagar, around 9 AM. Sagar ventured into deeper waters and began to struggle.


Witnesses stated that Arun attempted to rescue Sagar but ended up in the deep water himself, leading to both boys drowning. Police officer Rajiv Kumar arrived at the scene and, with the assistance of divers, managed to recover the bodies after approximately two hours. The deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination. Kumar confirmed that further actions are being taken regarding the incident.
