Drowning Accident in Ballia District

In a heartbreaking incident in the Khejuri police jurisdiction of Ballia district, a 13-year-old student tragically drowned while bathing in a drain. Authorities reported the incident on Friday.

According to police, Aditya, a resident of Belouna village, had gone to bathe in the Behera drain with two friends around 4 PM on Thursday. Due to recent rainfall, the water level in the drain was significantly high, and Aditya ventured into deeper waters, leading to his drowning.

Local villagers managed to retrieve Aditya's body from the drain. Station Officer Dinesh Pathak stated that upon receiving news of the incident, police promptly arrived at the scene and sent the body for post-mortem examination at the district hospital. It was confirmed that the deceased was a sixth-grade student.
