Incident Overview

In a shocking incident in Etah district, a 20-year-old woman and her boyfriend were reportedly beaten to death on Sunday. According to police reports, the young woman's family discovered the couple together at her home, leading to a violent confrontation.


Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shyam Narayan Singh stated that several family members of the victim have been taken into custody for questioning regarding the murder that occurred in the village of Gadhiya Suhagpur. The deceased have been identified as Shivani, daughter of Ashok, and Deepak, son of Radheshyam, both of whom belonged to the same village and community.


Details of the Relationship

Authorities revealed that Shivani and Deepak had been in a romantic relationship for an extended period. It was reported that Deepak visited Shivani's home around 8:30 PM, during which her family allegedly found them in what they deemed an 'objectionable' situation on the roof.


Consequences of the Confrontation

In a fit of rage, the family members reportedly assaulted the couple, resulting in Shivani's immediate death at the scene. Deepak succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the district hospital. Local Station House Officer (SHO) Ritesh Thakur mentioned that no formal complaints have been filed by either party as of yet. The bodies have been sent to Etah Medical College for post-mortem examinations.


Police Response

SSP Singh visited the medical college and the crime scene, and a forensic team has been summoned to gather evidence. The police have deployed a significant presence in the village as a precautionary measure.
