Nagpur, September 5: A tragic incident unfolded in Nagpur, Maharashtra, where a 38-year-old woman lost her life following an alleged assault by her husband. The confrontation reportedly stemmed from a disagreement over her choice to attend a dance class instead of preparing dinner.
Details of the Incident
The situation escalated after the woman’s health deteriorated due to the alleged domestic violence. Initially, authorities treated her death as accidental; however, a post-mortem examination revealed significant injuries, leading to the registration of a murder case against her 41-year-old husband.
The victim, identified as Yamini Krishna Lal Yadav, was married to Krishna Lal Yadav, and they had two young children together. Reports indicate that Krishna Lal returned home from work and requested Yamini to cook for the family. However, she was preparing to attend a dance class organized in their housing society and refused to cook at that moment.
The Assault
What began as a simple disagreement quickly turned violent. Police reports suggest that Krishna Lal was intoxicated during the argument, which escalated to physical violence, with him allegedly attacking Yamini around her neck and abdomen in front of their frightened children.
After the assault, Yamini experienced severe pain and requested her husband to fetch painkillers. Krishna Lal attempted to buy medication but returned empty-handed when the pharmacy was closed. Yamini's condition worsened, leading to abdominal swelling, which indicated serious internal injuries.
Medical Response and Investigation
Despite being rushed to a hospital, doctors were unable to save her, and she passed away during treatment. Initially, police classified her death as accidental and conducted a post-mortem as per protocol.
However, the autopsy findings raised alarms, revealing a fractured neck and severe damage to internal organs. Yamini’s brother expressed that the family initially thought her death was a tragic accident, but the post-mortem results indicated she had been violently attacked, including signs of strangulation.
Family's Reaction
Yamini's brother recounted receiving the devastating news while in Mumbai. He stated, “The post-mortem report showed that she had been strangled and had sustained injuries to her abdomen. Based on these findings, the police promptly filed a case and arrested my brother-in-law, Krishna Lal Yadav, under Section 302 for murder.”
He added that the couple had experienced conflicts in the past, but Yamini had often downplayed the severity of their disputes, insisting that family matters should remain private to avoid further complications.
Ongoing Investigation
Following the autopsy results, police interrogated Krishna Lal, leading to his arrest. A murder case has been officially filed, and investigations are ongoing to clarify the events that led to Yamini's tragic death.
