In a shocking incident in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, a husband brutally murdered his wife. The tragedy unfolded on Thursday evening in the village of Sauraha, located in the Brijmanganj police jurisdiction, where a 20-year-old woman was attacked with an axe during a domestic dispute. Following the attack, the husband fled the scene.
The victim, identified as Najma, had been married to Murtuja from Sauraha for about a year and a half. Reports indicate that the couple had been experiencing ongoing conflicts since their marriage. Due to these issues, Najma had been living at her parental home for an extended period.
On Thursday afternoon, Najma returned to her in-laws' house to collect her belongings, accompanied by her mother and another young man. As she was gathering her items and preparing to leave, Murtuja lured her into a room under the pretense of discussing something important. Once inside, he struck her multiple times on the head with the axe.
Najma collapsed to the floor, bleeding profusely and writhing in pain. Her mother and the accompanying young man raised an alarm, attracting the attention of nearby residents. They quickly transported Najma to the hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries en route. The police have since sent her body for a post-mortem examination.
Priest Attacks Son with Sharp Weapon
In another disturbing incident in Maharajganj, a priest attacked his son with a sharp weapon in the town of Partawal, resulting in injuries to the son's hand. The injured son was admitted to the Partawal Community Health Center for treatment and received bandaging for his wound. After being treated, he resumed his disruptive behavior.
Following the incident, the father attempted to locate his son again, but he could not be found. No formal complaint has been filed with the police regarding this matter. Reports suggest that the son was upset after being denied money for alcohol.
The young man, who resides in a rented house in Partawal, is the son of a temple priest. According to local sources, the son had been requesting money from his father for alcohol, leading to a prolonged argument between them late into the night. In a fit of rage, the father attacked his son with a sharp weapon, injuring his hand.
