Investigation Underway After Woman's Body Discovered

Bhubaneswar: Authorities reported the discovery of a woman's body outside a hotel in the Jagamara region of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, where she had been residing for the past two months.

The victim has been identified as Sonali Mahapatra, originally from Nayagarh district, and was working at a private finance firm in the city.

According to police, her body was found in a pool of blood near the hotel premises.

A police spokesperson stated, "We will determine if this incident was an accident, suicide, or foul play after a comprehensive investigation."

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar.

In connection with the case, a male acquaintance who was staying with her at the hotel has been taken into custody for questioning.

The police have also gathered CCTV footage and confiscated their mobile devices as part of the ongoing investigation.
