Tragic Death of U.S. Soldier in Iranian Drone Attack in Kuwait
U.S. Soldier Killed in Drone Strike
A devastating Iranian drone strike in Kuwait's Port Shuaiba on Sunday resulted in the deaths of six American soldiers. Among the fallen was Sergeant First Class Nicole M. Amor, 39, from White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Nicole was serving with the 103rd Sustainment Command of the U.S. Army Reserve and was on duty under Operation Epic Fury.
The most heartbreaking aspect of this tragic event is that Nicole was preparing to return home. Her husband, Joy Amor, expressed his grief, stating, “She was just about to come home… You don’t go to Kuwait thinking something is going to happen, and for her to be the first one there – it’s tragic.” Joy shared that he had spoken to Nicole just two hours before the attack. A mother of two, she was eagerly looking forward to reuniting with her family.
The Pentagon confirmed that the attack targeted a temporary tactical operations center where soldiers were supporting a U.S.-Israeli mission. This retaliation from Iran came in response to attacks from the U.S. and Israel. Other soldiers who lost their lives alongside Nicole included Captain Cody A. Khork, Sergeant First Class Noah L. Teetjens, and Sergeant Declan J. Cody.
Nicole began her service in the National Guard in 2005 before transferring to the Army Reserve. She had previously been deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in 2019. Friends and family remember her as a loving person, often referred to as 'everyone's mom' and known for her sharp wit.
This incident marks one of the first fatalities in the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict, leaving many families in deep sorrow. Nicole's sacrifice has sparked a wave of mourning across the United States, and heartfelt condolences are extended to her family and the nation.
