Investigation into the Death of a Young Girl
A seven-year-old girl undergoing treatment at a hospital in Purnia district, Bihar, has tragically passed away. Reports indicate that an 'unknown object' was allegedly inserted into her private parts. This information was confirmed by police on Wednesday.
Anjani Kumar, the Superintendent of Police (SP) from Araria, stated to a news agency, 'The investigation has revealed that the girl was not sexually assaulted. She died during treatment. An object was inserted into her private area in October, causing internal injuries.'
According to police reports, the girl was receiving care at the Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH) in Purnia, where she succumbed to her injuries on Monday. The SP mentioned that her body has been sent for post-mortem examination by the forensic science laboratory (FSL) team.
Currently, three suspects have been identified, who frequently visited the victim's home, and the investigation is ongoing. Kumar noted that further actions will be determined after receiving the post-mortem and other reports from the FSL.
