Details of the Victim

The deceased, identified as 28-year-old Sam Paor Jude, was a second-year Master of Business Administration (MBA) student at Kalinga University. His body was discovered on the ground floor of a four-story residential building located in Sector 16 of the Mandir Hasoud police jurisdiction.

Medical Response

Following the incident, his classmates rushed him to a nearby private hospital, from where he was transferred to another facility in Naya Raipur. Eventually, he was admitted to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Hospital in Raipur, where he succumbed to his injuries early Tuesday morning.

Circumstances Surrounding the Fall

According to the officer, initial investigations revealed that Sam had an altercation with a woman, who is also a foreign national, shortly before the incident. The woman accused Sam of harassment and called her male friend to the scene.

Witnesses reported that upon seeing other young men at the location, Sam allegedly panicked and fled towards the upper floors of the building, later falling from the fourth floor.

Eyewitness Accounts

During the inquiry, it was noted that no eyewitnesses observed anyone pushing or attacking the student before his fall. After the incident, the woman and her male companion left the area, fearing retaliation from Sam's friends, and sought refuge in Durg district, where they reported to the Bhilai police station. They were subsequently brought to Mandir Hasoud police for questioning.

The police are currently interrogating the woman, her male friend, and other potential suspects. Further actions will be determined based on the evidence and facts that emerge during the investigation.

In a statement to reporters, Lakhan Patle, the Additional Superintendent of Police (City) in Raipur, emphasized that the investigation is being conducted from all possible angles to ascertain the sequence of events leading to the tragedy. Multiple interviews are being conducted, and CCTV footage is being reviewed to determine the exact cause of death.
