Mysterious Circumstances Surrounding Anand Moran's Death

Jorhat, June 19: The untimely death of a young man from Tinsukia district in Assam has left his village in shock and mourning. Family members of Anand Moran are alleging foul play and are demanding a comprehensive investigation into the events leading to his demise.
Anand, who hailed from Teji No. 2 village in Kakopathar, had left home on June 14.
He reportedly boarded a train from Tinsukia on June 15, but tragedy struck when his body was discovered two days later on a railway track in S. Rayavaram, located in Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh.
Local authorities found his body on June 17, along with his mobile phone and ID documents. They promptly informed Anand's elder sister, who resides in Bengaluru, about the incident, and she subsequently broke the news to the family.
The shocking news has plunged both the family and the entire village into deep sorrow.
According to relatives, Anand had been working outside Assam for nearly two years and had just returned home before embarking on another job search.
"He had been away for work for almost two years. He just returned home recently and left again on Sunday. We never thought this would be our last goodbye," a family member lamented.
While the police have yet to determine the cause of death, family members and villagers are voicing their suspicions that Anand may have been murdered.
"We firmly believe that Anand was murdered. We urge the police to conduct a thorough and unbiased investigation to ensure justice is served," a relative stated.
The family has already reached out to the police with their concerns and has requested assistance from both the Assam and Andhra Pradesh governments to facilitate the return of Anand's body to their village.
"Our primary request is for the government to help bring Anand's body home. We are devastated and cannot afford the expenses involved. We need support from the authorities during this challenging time," another family member expressed.
In addition to seeking a thorough investigation, the family is also asking for financial compensation due to their precarious economic situation.
"Our household is in dire straits. Anand was a key breadwinner for us. We appeal to the government and railway authorities for compensation to help us cope with this tragedy," a relative added.
Villagers highlighted that the lack of job opportunities forces many young individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to seek work far from home, often in precarious conditions.
"Our youth are compelled to leave Assam due to insufficient employment options. They travel great distances in search of work and often face dangers away from their families. The government must create more job opportunities for the poor and unemployed youth within the state," a villager commented.
This incident follows closely on the heels of another Assamese migrant worker's death under mysterious circumstances just two weeks prior.
On June 4, Jiten Chirang, from Karkichuk village in Majuli district, died in Bengaluru under unclear circumstances after moving there for work nearly two months earlier.
The recent spate of deaths has raised alarm among families of migrant workers and local residents alike.
