Tragic Death of ASHA Worker in Uttar Pradesh Sparks Investigation

A tragic incident has unfolded in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, where a 40-year-old ASHA worker was discovered dead in a maize field. Authorities suspect foul play, potentially sexual assault, as they await autopsy results. The victim, Rajkumari, had been on a vaccination drive when she went missing. Discovery of the Body

In a distressing event, a 40-year-old ASHA worker was discovered deceased in a maize field located in the Alapur region of Badaun, Uttar Pradesh.

Law enforcement officials are investigating the case as a potential sexual assault, with the precise cause of death pending an autopsy.


Details of the Victim

The victim has been identified as Rajkumari, the spouse of Raghvendra Jatav, and a resident of Hayatnagar village. She had traveled to Kundan Nagla village for a vaccination initiative. According to a senior police officer, she was last seen riding a scooter with a nurse before her disappearance.


Related Criminal Activity

In a separate incident, a notorious criminal known as Sonu alias Bhurre, who had a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head, was killed during a police encounter in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, on the night of May 19-20.



Police Encounter Details

The encounter was a collaborative effort involving the Umri Begamganj Police, Khodare Police, and the Special Operations Group (SOG).



According to Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal, the suspect fired at the police, hitting the bulletproof vest of the Station House Officer. In response, police returned fire, injuring the suspect, who later died in the hospital.


Seized Items

Authorities recovered an unregistered motorcycle, an illegal pistol, a homemade firearm, and both live and spent cartridges from the suspect.
