Tragic Collision on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Claims Three Lives
Fatal Accident on Expressway
Alwar, Dec 17: Three individuals tragically lost their lives when a pickup truck collided with another truck, resulting in a fire on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan's Alwar, as reported by local authorities on Wednesday.
Officials stated that the pickup truck was en route from Delhi to Jaipur when the incident occurred at channel number 131.5, within the jurisdiction of the Raini police station.
The pickup truck crashed into a truck in front of it, causing sparks that quickly ignited the vehicle, engulfing it in flames.
Emergency services, including police and fire department personnel, responded promptly to the scene to extinguish the blaze.
A team from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) also arrived to assist in rescuing the occupants of the pickup truck. There were four people inside, three of whom suffered severe burns. They were transported to Raini hospital, where unfortunately, three succumbed to their injuries. The critically injured driver was referred to Jaipur for further medical care.
The remains of the deceased have been placed in the mortuary at Raini hospital.
The victims have been identified as Mohit from Bahadurgarh, Haryana, and Deependra and Padam from Sagar, Madhya Pradesh.
The driver, identified as Hanny, hails from Jhajjar, Haryana.
Authorities have notified the families of the deceased regarding the tragic incident.
Reports suggest that multiple vehicles may have been involved in the collision, but upon police arrival, only the pickup truck was found at the scene.
This incident follows closely on the heels of another tragic event where 13 people died and many were injured in a 10-vehicle pile-up on the Delhi-Agra Expressway in Mathura, caused by dense fog that severely limited visibility.
