Tragic Collision in Uttar Pradesh Claims Lives of Six Women

A tragic accident on the Bareilly-Mathura highway in Uttar Pradesh has claimed the lives of six women and left three others critically injured. The incident occurred when an e-rickshaw, carrying a group of women heading to a wedding, collided with a speeding tractor. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, and both tractor drivers have been detained. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his condolences to the victims' families and emphasized the need for immediate medical assistance for the injured. This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding road safety in the region.
 

Fatal Accident on Bareilly-Mathura Highway

A devastating accident occurred on the Bareilly-Mathura highway in Badaun district, Uttar Pradesh, resulting in the deaths of six women and leaving three others critically injured. The deceased have been identified as Prema Devi (32), Gangashree alias Sarla (32), Rajkumari (50), Revati (80), Narayani (30), and Aarti (30). The e-rickshaw driver, Shani, along with two other women, sustained severe injuries and were admitted to a medical college, where their condition is reported to be serious. This tragic incident took place while a group of eight women was traveling in an e-rickshaw to invite relatives for a wedding in Garhauna village.


Details of the Incident

According to police reports, the e-rickshaw was attempting to avoid another tractor when it was struck head-on by a speeding tractor coming from the opposite direction. The impact caused significant damage to the e-rickshaw. The family of Dalchand Maurya from Murawan Nagla village was busy preparing for the wedding of their son, Kunwar Pal, scheduled for June 29. Emergency services and police arrived promptly at the scene to transport the injured to the hospital. District Magistrate Avnish Rai and Senior Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma also visited the site.


Investigation Underway

Rai stated that initial investigations revealed the e-rickshaw driver was trying to evade one tractor when the collision with another occurred. Both tractor drivers involved in the accident have been detained, and an investigation is ongoing. Authorities confirmed that the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examinations, and a team led by the Additional District Magistrate (Administration) has been formed to investigate the incident.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his sorrow over the incident in a post on social media, stating that the loss of life in this unfortunate road accident in Badaun is deeply saddening. He extended his condolences to the bereaved families and instructed district administration officials to ensure that the injured receive immediate medical attention and proper care. He prayed to Lord Ram to grant peace to the departed souls, strength to the grieving families to bear this immense loss, and a swift recovery for the injured.
