Fatal Accident in Alappuzha District

In a tragic incident in Alappuzha district of Kerala, a collision between a motorcycle and a scooter resulted in the deaths of two individuals, with two others sustaining serious injuries, as reported by local authorities on Monday.


The deceased have been identified as 19-year-old Nikhil from Mannanchery and 25-year-old Ragesh from Cherthala.


Shrirag, a resident of Valavanad, and Vipin from Cherthala are currently hospitalized with severe injuries.


According to police, Ragesh was riding his motorcycle with Vipin as a passenger, while Nikhil was operating the scooter with Shrirag seated behind him.


The collision occurred around 8:40 PM on Sunday near the Valavanad bridge. Bystanders rushed to the scene and transported all four injured individuals to a nearby hospital.


Unfortunately, both Nikhil and Ragesh succumbed to their injuries later that night. A police official indicated that preliminary investigations suggest the accident was caused by the motorcycle's excessive speed. The Mannanchery police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. Authorities confirmed that the bodies of the deceased will be handed over to their families following post-mortem examinations.
