Tragic Clash at Suspected Brothel in Thrissur Claims Life of Odisha Native

A tragic incident unfolded in Thrissur city, where a 27-year-old man from Odisha, identified as Danpathy Naik, lost his life following a confrontation at a suspected prostitution establishment. The clash occurred on the night of June 18, at a rented property located on Korapath Lane.


Naik's companions, Makkara Majhi (21) and Trinath Majhi (23), also from Odisha, sustained injuries during the altercation. Reports indicate that the trio had visited the location and later demanded a refund of their money, which escalated into a violent dispute with the residents of the house.


During the confrontation, Naik was reportedly struck on the head with a steel bangle, resulting in severe injuries. He was promptly transported to the Government Medical College Hospital in Thrissur, where he succumbed to his injuries the following morning.


Authorities have apprehended two men and four women from various states, believed to be involved in operating the suspected brothel. Investigators suspect that the establishment primarily catered to migrant workers.


The property had been rented approximately six months prior and was allegedly managed by an individual named Bichu Naik, who is currently on the run. Women from Odisha, West Bengal, and Assam were reportedly residing at the location and engaging in prostitution activities.


The Thrissur East Police have initiated a comprehensive investigation into the matter, and the deceased's body will be released to his family after a post-mortem examination.
