In a tragic incident in Amethi district, a speeding car collided with an animal near Thauri village on the Raebareli-Jagdishpur road, resulting in the death of a woman and serious injuries to her husband and son, as reported by local authorities on Saturday.
According to police, Shiv Nandan Singh (65), a resident of Rana Nagar in Raebareli, was traveling with his wife Usha Singh (59) and their son Sunil Kumar when their vehicle struck an animal near Thauri village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Bhale Sultan Shahid Memorial police station. The impact was so severe that the car overturned, leaving all three occupants critically injured.
Authorities stated that the victims were rushed to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Jagdishpur, where doctors pronounced Usha Singh dead upon arrival. Meanwhile, Shiv Nandan Singh and Sunil Kumar were referred to a hospital in Lucknow for advanced medical treatment. Police station in-charge Tanuja Pal confirmed that the body has been sent for post-mortem examination and legal proceedings are underway.
