Bhubaneswar: A serious accident occurred early Sunday morning when a bus transporting pilgrims from Hooghly, West Bengal, collided with another bus on NH-16 near the Dhamra Railway Overbridge in Bhadrak district. This incident resulted in injuries to twenty-four individuals, including seven women and several children, with ten of them suffering critical injuries.

The collision happened around 2:30 AM, leading to multiple passengers sustaining injuries.

In the aftermath, local residents, along with Bhadrak Rural police and Fire Brigade teams, promptly initiated a rescue operation, transporting the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital in Bhadrak.

Those critically injured were subsequently transferred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for more intensive care.

Reports indicate that the condition of all injured individuals is currently stable, and further information regarding the accident is pending.
