Bus Plunges Off Bridge in Shivamogga District
A private bus in Shivamogga district of Karnataka lost control and fell off a bridge, causing panic among passengers. This incident occurred in the Kagehalla area of Veerapura village in the Bhadravati taluk. Reports indicate that the bus collided with the bridge railing before the fall. More than ten passengers sustained serious injuries and have been admitted to the Bhadravati taluk hospital for treatment. At the time of the accident, over 40 passengers were on board, and the bus was en route from Channagiri in Davanagere district to Bhadravati. The site of the accident falls under the jurisdiction of the Bhadravati rural police station, where a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
Fatal Collision Between Bus and Lorry in Hassan
Earlier, a road accident in Hassan district of Karnataka resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left seven others injured. This incident took place near Ammakutira Layout in the Channarayapatna taluk, where a private bus collided with a lorry. The bus, which was traveling from Mangaluru to Bengaluru, attempted to overtake another vehicle on National Highway 75 when it crashed into the rear of the lorry, leading to a severe collision. One of the deceased, Krishna Shetty, died at the scene, while another passenger, Madhu, succumbed to injuries during treatment at the hospital. The injured passengers were transported to Adichunchanagiri Hospital and nearby medical facilities. Police officials reported that there were 32 people on board the bus at the time of the accident, including the driver and conductor. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident.
