Tragic Bus Accident Claims Lives of Two Pilgrims in Bilaspur
Fatal Bus Overturning Near Baba Balak Nath Shrine

On Sunday, a tragic incident occurred when a bus transporting pilgrims from Punjab overturned close to Shahtalai, the sacred site of Baba Balak Nath, located in the Bilaspur district. This unfortunate event resulted in the deaths of two devotees and left several others injured.
Officials reported that the bus, registered as PB-03BJ-9755, was returning to Amritsar after a visit to the Baba Balak Nath shrine. The accident took place when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle near Shahtalai, leading to the bus rolling over onto the roadside.
The incident caused widespread panic among the passengers, with cries for assistance resonating throughout the area. Upon receiving the alert, teams from the Talai Police Station, local taxi union members, and residents quickly arrived at the scene to initiate rescue efforts.
Injured individuals were extracted from the overturned bus and transported to nearby hospitals using private vehicles and taxis for urgent medical care. Eyewitnesses noted that the Community Health Centre in Shahtalai lacked immediate treatment capabilities at the time, necessitating the swift transfer of the injured to other medical facilities.
Bilaspur's Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Kumar, confirmed the fatalities resulting from the accident. He stated that the district administration, police, local volunteers, and taxi union members collaborated effectively to execute the rescue operation and provide timely medical assistance to those hurt.
Authorities have filed a case and commenced an investigation to determine the precise circumstances surrounding the accident.
