Tragic Bus Accident Claims Lives of Two Friends in Uttar Pradesh
Fatal Collision on GT Road
On Friday, a high-speed bus from the Uttar Pradesh Roadways collided with two friends riding a motorcycle on GT Road in the Etah district, resulting in their deaths, according to police reports.
The deceased have been identified as 20-year-old Satyam and 17-year-old Nishant, also known as Golu, both residents of Nigoh Hasanpur village under the jurisdiction of Malwan police station.
As per police statements, the two young men had traveled to Etah for some work and were returning from a hospital when the bus struck their motorcycle, causing severe injuries.
One of the victims succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Family members arrived shortly after being informed. Satyam's brother, Sumit Chauhan, revealed that the duo had gone to deliver food to the hospital, as Nishant's sister-in-law had recently given birth, and the accident occurred on their way back.
Chauhan mentioned that Nishant had been living in Delhi with his family and had returned to the village about a month ago. The collision caused significant traffic disruption on GT Road, leading to a long traffic jam. A large police presence was deployed to manage the situation and restore traffic flow.
The injured were transported to a hospital, where the second victim also passed away during treatment. The local police station chief confirmed that officers arrived promptly at the scene. He added that the bus involved in the accident has been seized, and efforts are underway to locate the driver. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
