Fatal Accident on Mumbai's Coastal Road

Mumbai: A tragic incident occurred early Sunday morning when a speeding BMW lost control on Mumbai's Coastal Road, resulting in the deaths of three young men and leaving one critically injured, according to police reports.

The accident took place around 5:20 AM as the luxury vehicle sped from Marine Drive towards Haji Ali. Emergency responders had to extract the occupants from the severely damaged car before transporting them to a nearby hospital.

The car, which was registered in Gujarat, veered off course near Lotus Jetty, crashing into an under-construction parking area managed by L&T, as stated by an official from the Tardeo police station.

All four individuals, hailing from Silvassa in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, were rushed to Nair Hospital, where three were pronounced dead upon arrival.

The victims have been identified as Shanay Gajar (21), Dhairya Darshan Seth (17), and Aditya Jakasniya (19). The fourth passenger, Aditya Oswal (23), sustained serious injuries and remains in critical condition, according to police.

Authorities from the Tardeo police are currently investigating the incident to ascertain the precise details surrounding the crash.

Investigators have yet to identify the driver of the vehicle, as they are still awaiting a statement from the survivor.

The Mumbai Coastal Road is a 10.58-kilometer high-speed route linking Marine Drive to the Worli end of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.

In a separate incident earlier this year on July 15, a vehicle caught fire within the Coastal Road tunnel, but fortunately, there were no reported injuries.
