This unfortunate news was confirmed by his adventure company and others via an Instagram post on Saturday. Purja, along with five other climbers, had been missing since Friday when they encountered the severe snowstorm during their expedition.

In their Instagram announcement, 'Elite Exped' expressed their deep sorrow, stating, "It is with great sadness that we confirm the tragic passing of Nirmal 'Nimsdai' Purja following the avalanche on Broad Peak. We also regret to inform that the other members of the expedition did not survive."

Tributes Pour In for Nirmal Purja and Fellow Climbers

The company paid tribute to those who lost their lives alongside Purja. Their statement read, "Today, we mourn not only for Nims but for every individual who perished in this incident, including his trusted climbing partner and guide, Pur Bahadur Gurung (Yukta) and Nima Sherpa.
