Tragic Accident in Madhya Pradesh Claims Nine Lives
Fatal Incident in Jhabua District
In a heartbreaking incident in Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh, a trailer truck loaded with cement overturned onto a van around 2:30 PM on Wednesday, resulting in the deaths of at least nine individuals and injuring two others. All victims were members of the same family returning from a wedding celebration.
The accident occurred near the Sanjeli railway crossing in the Meghnagar tehsil, where a railway overbridge is currently under construction. According to Padmavilochan Shukla, the Superintendent of Police in Jhabua, the truck lost balance while crossing a temporary road leading to the construction site and toppled over onto the van.
The police reported that the van was completely crushed under the weight of the truck. An investigation has been initiated, and police teams from Thandla and Meghnagar have arrived at the scene.
Eyewitnesses noted that there were 11 people in the van, all returning from a wedding when the cement-laden truck overturned. The deceased have been identified as Mukesh Khaped (40), Vinod Khaped (16), Kumari Payal (12), Madi Bai (38), Vijay Bamaniya (14), Kumari Kanta (14), Ragini (9), and Shavlibai (35), along with Akali Parmar (35) from Devigarh village.
Ongoing Investigation
The local authorities have registered a case and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. The tragic event has left the community in shock as they mourn the loss of their loved ones.
