Tragic Accident Claims Life of Five-Year-Old in Rajasthan

Accident During Mourning Gathering

Jaipur, August 4 - A five-year-old boy tragically lost his life after falling into a pot of hot lentils during a mourning gathering in Bikaner district, Rajasthan. This incident was reported by the police on Tuesday.


The accident occurred in the village of Udarasar, located in the Shri Dungargarh area. The deceased child has been identified as Sanket.


Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajkumar shared that Sanket's grandfather, Kanaram Meghwal, passed away on July 26. On the eighth day following his death, a meal was being prepared for attendees of the mourning gathering on August 2, where Sanket was playing.


While playing, Sanket ran backward and accidentally fell into the uncovered pot of boiling lentils. Hearing his screams, family members rushed to the scene and immediately took him to the nearest hospital. Due to severe burns covering approximately 90% of his body, he was later referred to the Prince Bijay Singh Memorial Hospital in Bikaner after receiving initial treatment.


Unfortunately, the police reported that the child succumbed to his injuries on Monday. According to authorities, Sanket's father works as a laborer, and he was the second of three siblings, having a seven-year-old elder brother and a three-year-old younger sister.
