Tragic Accident at Old Faridabad Railway Station Claims Lives of Two Workers
Fatal Incident During Excavation Work
On Friday, a tragic accident occurred at the Old Faridabad railway station, resulting in the deaths of two female laborers and injuries to two others due to a landslide during excavation work. According to police reports, the incident took place around 12:30 PM while digging was underway for a basement as part of the station's renovation project.
Authorities revealed that a group of workers was engaged in removing soil when a large section collapsed unexpectedly, burying four of them beneath the debris.
Rescue efforts led to the retrieval of the injured, who were subsequently admitted to a government hospital in the district. Unfortunately, doctors pronounced two of the victims, Navita (32) from Lakhisarai, Bihar, and Nandita (34) from West Bengal, dead upon arrival.
The injured, Kajal and Govinda, both from Jharkhand, are currently receiving medical treatment. A police official mentioned that all workers were residing near the construction site. A senior officer confirmed that the Government Railway Police (GRP) is investigating the incident, although no formal complaints have been filed by the laborers as of yet.
