According to police reports, the 50-year-old Dalit woman was attacked with a sharp object by assailants when she intervened to prevent her 20-year-old daughter from being taken in Kapsad village.


Despite her brave efforts, the mother was severely injured, and the daughter was forcibly abducted by the attackers.


The mother succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment at a local hospital.


This incident has sparked widespread outrage, prompting police to enhance security and establish five teams to locate the suspects and the abducted girl.


Opposition leaders have condemned the incident, accusing the state government of allowing Uttar Pradesh to descend into chaos.


Senior Congress figure Udit Raj expressed his outrage on social media, detailing the events that led to the mother's death and the daughter's abduction, highlighting the alarming rise in violence against Dalits in the state.


SP MLA Atul Pradhan also voiced his dismay, emphasizing the brutality of the crime and the systemic issues that allow such acts to occur.


SP leader Yogesh Verma described the incident as deeply disturbing for the Dalit community and called for immediate action against the perpetrators.


The police have identified the suspects as Paras Som and Sunil Kumar, both residents of the same village.
