Tragic Abduction and Murder of 13-Year-Old in Karnataka
Incident Overview
A deeply distressing event unfolded in Anekal, Karnataka, where a 13-year-old boy was reportedly kidnapped, murdered, and subsequently burned, according to police reports. The victim, identified as Nischith, a seventh-grade student, was taken between 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM on Wednesday while returning home from his tuition classes in Shantinikethan Layout, Arakere. His charred remains were discovered around 4:15 PM the following day in a secluded area along the Bannerghatta-Kaggalipura main road.
Details of the Case
Authorities suspect that Nischith was familiar with his abductors, as it appears he willingly left with them on their motorcycle, possibly due to prior interactions. His father, an assistant professor at a private institution, reported him missing to the Hulimavu police after he failed to return home. Later that night, the kidnappers contacted the father, demanding a ransom of Rs 5 lakh for his son's safe return.
Police Investigation
The police initiated a search for the suspects based on the mobile tower location from which the ransom call was made. After the parents arranged the ransom, they proceeded to the designated location for the payment. However, the kidnappers ultimately decided against releasing Nischith, fearing that his knowledge of their identities could lead to their capture.
Discovery of the Body
The body was discovered by a local man who was retrieving his buffaloes in the area. Upon finding the remains on a boulder, he promptly alerted the authorities. The Anekal police then circulated a message to nearby stations to check for any reports of missing persons, leading to the identification of the boy.
