Traders in Bharmour Request Enhanced Facilities for Manimahesh Yatra

Traders Submit Memorandum for Yatra Preparations

The local traders' association, known as the 84 Vyapar Mandal Bharmour, has formally presented a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh via the Additional District Magistrate in Bharmour. This document outlines significant concerns regarding the forthcoming sacred Manimahesh Yatra. A duplicate of the memorandum was also sent to the Deputy Commissioner of Chamba.


The traders emphasized the necessity for enhanced amenities to support local businesses and the large number of pilgrims anticipated during the yatra. Their requests include:



  • Relocation of Civil Hospital Bharmour to the new facility at Patti prior to the yatra, which would improve healthcare access and alleviate traffic issues.


  • Initiation of Manimahesh Parikrama via Kugti in line with religious traditions, to respect the feelings of the devotees.


  • Renovation of the Hadsar–Manimahesh pedestrian path ahead of time, with limitations on nighttime travel in landslide-prone areas and the presence of police patrols to reduce accidents.


  • Enhancement of communication infrastructure, including satellite services, to prevent the network failures experienced last year.


  • Improvement of Bharmour market facilities with the installation of street lighting, CCTV cameras, and public restrooms to cater to the influx of visitors.



The memorandum called on the authorities to finalize all necessary preparations before the pilgrimage commences, ensuring a smooth, organized, and successful yatra for devotees from across India and beyond.


Among those present during the memorandum submission were Mahinder Patyal (President), Kalu Sharma (Treasurer), Abhilash Patial (Secretary), Pyar Sharma (Press Secretary), Raju Sharma, along with traders from Kugti, Hadsar, and Manimahesh.
