Baripada: Officials from the Odisha forest department have apprehended three individuals involved in poaching activities within Similipal National Park. The suspects were caught while attempting to hunt wildlife, and authorities confiscated three homemade firearms from them.
The arrests took place on Thursday, and the individuals were subsequently presented before the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court in Baripada, where they were remanded into judicial custody.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against the poachers for breaching the Arms Act of 1959.
According to officials, the arrested individuals are residents of the Mayurbhanj district.
